James Ingram BEGGS

BEGGS, James Ingram - The family of James Ingram Beggs sorrowfully announces his passing on Monday, October 15, 2007 in his 79th year, after living with the challenges of Parkinson's Disease. Jim is survived by his daughter Barb Muir, her husband Doug and son Dan of Medicine Hat Alberta; and his daughter Jane Langlotz, her husband Chris and their children Sharon and Tim of Burlington. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret (2000) and his siblings Marjorie and Bill. Jim grew up in the railway station house in Carlyle, Saskatchewan and graduated 1951 in Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. After their marriage in 1952, Jim and Marg moved to Peterborough, with Jim as a project engineer with Canadian General Electric. Jim enjoyed travelling to many countries with respect to steel and aluminum rolling mill motor installations. He equally enjoyed the hunting, fishing and family camping offered by life in the Kawarthas. In 1970, Jim accepted a position with Dofasco in Hamilton, as Assistant Chief Engineer, where he was involved in significant plant expansions in the years that followed. After retirement in 1991, he and Marg moved back to Peterborough to enjoy time with family and friends, and travel while their health permitted. Jim was respected by all who knew him as a man of intelligence, integrity, and good humour; he was both a gentleman and a gentle man. The family would like to acknowledge Jim's loving care by staff at The Brant Centre in Burlington.
