Elizabeth Louise PITNEY

PITNEY, Elizabeth Louise, MVO Peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2004. Daughter of the late Percy and Lily Pitney. Elizabeth's career in the Federal Public Service included her many years as Secretary to five Canadian Governors General, from the Right Honourable Vincent Massey to the Right Honourable Jeanne Sauve. Her dedicated service was recognized when she became a Member of the Royal Victorian Order, which was presented to Elizabeth by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Elizabeth is lovingly remembered by her many friends and former colleagues with whom she shared her interests that included a love of bridge, music, bird watching, and travel. She was a devoted and caring member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Ottawa. Her life will be remembered at a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa. The Ottawa Citizen
