Gerald Patrick TABER

TABER, Gerald Patrick - November 27, 1927 - February 6, 2008 On Wednesday, February 6, 2008, following a sudden illness, Gerald Patrick Taber died at Kingston General Hospital, with his family by his side. He is survived by Joan, his wife of 52 years, his son Geoff (Jacquie Gardner), his daughter Shelagh Walsh and his grandchildren, James, Stephen and Phoebe Walsh and Scott and Andrew Taber. Gerry was born in Saskatchewan to Russell and Dorothy Taber (nee Haslam). He was predeceased by his older brother Harry in 1995. He came east to attend Queen's University (where he received degrees in Arts and in Commerce in 1949) and then Harvard Business School (1952). Gerald worked in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and New York City before returning to Kingston in 1999. His family and friends will remember a man of great good humour, gentleness and generosity. Friends are invited to join the family at their home in Kingston on Monday, February 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. In accordance with Gerald's wishes, a private burial service will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in Gerald's memory may be made to the Salvation Army. 10984958
