VOLTIS, Tina VOLTIS, Tina - 69, Halifax, passed away in the VG Site, QEII, on February 8, 2008. Born in Stolos, Greece, she was a daughter of Georgina and the late John Panagiotourous. Tina immigrated to Saskatoon, Sask., in 1960. She then moved to Toronto, where she met her late husband, Gus. In 1966 they moved to Halifax, where they opened a neighbourhood grocery store. Then they moved to Herring Cove and opened up a store there. Tina was an avid gardener. She could make anything grow and people would stop and admire her beautiful flowers. She was also a dedicated churchgoer and had a great interest in the religious miracles throughout the world. She is survived by daughters, Mary (Marc), Georgina, Anna; her mother, Georgina; brothers, Peter, Steve, Louis; sisters, Voula, Irene, Helen, Georgina, Gina, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral will be Tuesday, February 12, at 12 p.m. in St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, Purcell's Cove Road. Donations can be made to the Red Cross Society, the Palliative Care Unit of QEII Health Sciences Centre, or Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Mom's neighbours for all their help throughout the years; our aunts and cousins for always being there for us, and the staff on 7A and 8A, VG Site, QEII, for all their kindness and help.
