LEWTAS, Naomi Ruth 2008-02-06 Lewtas, Naomi Ruth July 26, 1932 - February 5, 2008 Mrs. Ruth Lewtas passed away peacefully on February 5, 2008 at Pinewood Court, Walsh Street, with her husband by her side. Born in Thunder Bay, Ruth went to Prospect School, SS #5 Jackpine, Technical High (Hillcrest), and then became a Registered Nursing Assistant. Ruth went to Confederation College in 1977 and completed the Business Administration Diploma course alongside her daughter. She did her nursing training at the Port Arthur General Hospital, and used her skills there and at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital and Dawson Court. Ruth wasn‘t afraid to tackle anything, including getting her motorcycle license. She and her husband Jack moved around a bit, living for short terms in Fort Frances, Petawawa, Calgary, and then settled for a stretch in beautiful British Columbia. They moved back to Thunder Bay to be closer to family. She figured she could go fishing at Shebandowan just as well as on the ocean. Ruth spent many hours creating beautiful knitted and crocheted items cherished by her family and friends. An avid cake decorator, Ruth decorated many creations from her kitchen. Many family weddings displayed her handiwork. Ruth married Jack on November 1, 1952 and just celebrated 55 years of wedded bliss. She is survived by her husband Jack (John), daughter Bonnie Cronk (Jamie) of Regent Street, granddaughter Talia Cronk, sisters Joyce Phribry of Thunder Bay and Norma Rolfe of Nova Scotia, also nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her infant son Charles (Chuck) in 1963, son Thomas (Tom) in 1986, mother Edna (Alice), father James (Jim) brothers Raymond, Stanley, Lawrence and Jackson. As per Ruth‘s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interment of Ashes will take place at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma in care of arrangements.
