SHACKLETON, Darlene SHACKLETON, Darlene - Died peacefully February 13, 2008, surrounded by the love of her family. Born December 16, 1956, she was a daughter to Joyce Carroll, Enfield, and Archie Carroll, Lantz. She was a loving sister to Vernon (Cathy), Barry (Holly), Shelly and Terri-Leigh (Raymond). Darlene married the love of her life, Kenny Shackleton in 1974. Her pride and joy were her children, Tanya (Dave) Shackleton-Hartlin and Sean (Lori) Shackleton and her grandchildren, Sam and Haylee who lovingly referred to her as "Darl Mom". She was blessed with a large circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly especially her extended Shackleton family and nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Ashley, Nathan, Kyle, Nicole, Scott, Chase, and Jesse-James. Darlene was a loving mother figure to many, including the many stray cats and dogs that sought refuge in her home. Her home was your home. Her gift to the world was helping others which she gave freely in her personal life and in her professional life at Corridor Community Options for Adults since 1990. Her passion for life was evident and she was a role model for all to live by. She celebrated life with her family and friends through her music, her art, and spending time cruising the shores of Grand Lake. Darlene's wishes were to be cremated with a celebratory of life mass to be held in her honour on Monday, February 18, at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard's Parish, Enfield. The family has requested private time after the ceremony and there will be no public reception. For those wishing to make a donation in her honour, a trust account has been set up for her grandchildren, Sam and Haylee, at Scotia Bank, Elmsdale.
