Robert I. HUME

HUME, Robert I. HUME, Robert I. - 75, Dartmouth, passed away February 15, 2008, at home after a two year battle with cancer. He was a son of the late Ronald and Carrie (Nickerson) Hume. During his career, he held various senior level positions in the Nova Scotia Department of Finance. After his retirement he utilized his skills as a woodworker to fashion fine furniture. Robert was a founding member of the Dartmouth (now Maritime) Marksmen Association. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He particularly enjoyed his lifetime activities as a musician with various local orchestras and bands, and as a director of Dartmouth Senior Service Centre Orchestra from formation to 1988, and well as a long-time member and secretary-treasurer of Dartmouth Concert Band until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Linda Spidell; daughter, Stephanie; son, David; sister, Betty, Musquodboit; brothers, Albert, New Brunswick; Brian, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Nicole, William, Elizabeth, Cassandra, all of Dartmouth.
