SMITH, DORIS - Peacefully at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health on Saturday, February 16, 2008. DORIS BEATRICE SMITH (nee Knight), 92 years of Petrolia. Beloved wife of the late William Martin Smith (1988). Loving mother of Mary Lou Lukey and her husband John of Sarnia, and the late James Smith (1956). Cherished Grandmother of Heather Acton and her fianceé Edward Jackson of Watford, Bill Acton and his companion Gina Canie of Sarnia, Mike Acton and his wife Pina of London, Jennifer Raponi and her husband Marco of Ottawa and James Lukey of Guelph. Doris, also known as “Petrolia Grandma”, will be sadly missed by her Great Grandchildren, Courtney, Nicholas, Ainsley, Vanessa and Brandon. Doris was the feisty sister of the late Sam Knight, Bill Knight, Wilbur Knight and Marie (Knight) Booker. She will be fondly remembered by a brother-in-law Leonard Booker of St. Clair, Michigan, a sister-in-law, Louise Bailey of Petrolia, and many nieces and nephews who were all so special to her. Doris was a member of Christ Anglican Church and the Quilting Guild for many years, as well as a Girl Guide Leader for over 40 years. A private funeral service will be held at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia (519-882-0100). As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made by cheque to the C.E.E.
