ALTER, Melvyn (Mel). Peacefully, courageously and with dignity, on Friday, February 15, 2008. Loving husband and best friend of Arlene. Beloved father and father-in-law of Howard and Eleena, Lori and Shawn, Richie and Lori-Ann. Cherished Zaydie of Matthew and Jake. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Howie and Bianca Alter, and brother-in-law of Edwin and Leba Gittelman. Mel will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends. Special thanks to Dr. J. Zigby for his untiring efforts and compassion. The family wishes to thank Drs. V. Cohen, A. Dascal, A. Hirsch and to Ester Dajczman for their continuous treatment and support. Much gratitude to all the staff of 4 Main at the Jewish General Hospital for their excellent attention and sensitivity. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Sunday, February 17 at 3:30 p.m. Burial at the Beth Tikvah Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva private.
