Vera SHIELDS

MATILIPI,Vera (Shields) 2008-02-27 The Shields family wish to express our sadness by the sudden and unexpected passing of our sister Vera (Shields) Matilipi of Nanaimo, B.C. on February 24, 2008. Vera was born in Thunder Bay, ON. on September 4, 1947 to Margaret and Jack Shields of Paipoonge Township. She spent her early life in the Thunder Bay area until moving with her family to B.C. in the late 70‘s where she pursued a hairdressing career. She became a devoted Christian and remained very active in her church and administering to the people of the Port Hardy area. She was predeceased by both her parents and husband Dennis Matilipi . She is survived by her daughter Sheri (John} Fraser, granddaughters Abby and Kate Victoria, B.C.: son Ryan Yasinski (Amanda) Courtney, B.C. Sisters, Marion (Lorne) Wilson, Thunder Bay: Evelyn (Charles) Harris, Murillo, Jean McCoy, Calgary. Brothers, Jim (Dianne) Shields, Thunder Bay; Malcom (Valerie) Shields, Thunder Bay. Also many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, an donation to the Heart & Stroke foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held March 1, 2008 at the Sands Funeral Home in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
