Irene TEED

TEED (Fulton), Irene Brown TEED (Fulton), Irene Brown - Stewiacke, 1917 - 2008. The passing of Irene Teed occurred in Aberdeen Hospital on February 25, 2008. She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband, Jamie. Irene is survived by a daughter; two granddaughters, Alana and Wendy-Anne and five great-grandchildren, all residents of Alberta and British Columbia. Irene was a member and very active in St. Andrews United Church in Stewiacke. She was an Explorer leader, UCW member, choir mother and served on the Board of Managers and on the Christian Education Stewardship Committee. In 1966 Irene attended General Council in Kitchener-Waterloo and was the First Laywoman in Canada to chair presbytery. In 1975 Irene convened the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the St. Andrews United Church. Irene loved gardening and over 100 varieties of shrubs and flowers were always ablaze with colour in the spring and fall. Irene's family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Glen Haven Care Home, New Glasgow. They would also like to thank her relatives, close friends and neighbours for the kindness extended to Irene in the later years of her life. A funeral service will be held in Ettinger's Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, on Thursday, February 28, at 11 a.m. No visitation by request. A reception will follow the service.
