Iva Laura BLACK

SNYDER, Iva Laura (nee Black) - We have been richly blessed with the remarkable life of Iva who passed away after a short illness at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls on Friday, February 8, 2008, in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest L. Snyder (1980). Dear mother of Peter (Edith) of St. Catharines, and David of Niagara Falls. Loved grandmother of John (Kathy) and Paul, and her great grandchildren Ann and William, whom she cherished. Also survived by one sister, Ilene Black, sister-in-law Ellenor Black, and several nieces and nephews. Iva enjoyed a very full life, volunteering particularly with home and school associations, the United Church Women of Welland Avenue United Church where she was a member for over 60 years, the St. Catharines General Hospital Auxiliary since 1965, and L.A.M.S. Her great passion was horse racing. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at Welland Avenue United Church, at the corner of Welland Ave. and Henry St., St. Catharines, on Saturday, February 16, at 11 a.m., with visitation at the church 1 hour prior to service.
