WHELAN, Marjorie June (Fowler) - Peacefully with her daughters, Gillian Tucker and Arlene Adamson, at her side on February 21st, 2008 in her 82 year. Much adored wife of the late James Whelan (1987). Mother in law of Clive Tucker and Bob Adamson. Dear Nana of John and Amy Tucker, Wendy McIntosh, Darren, Jeremy, Valerie and Robert Adamson. Great-Nana of James and Zoey McIntosh. Sister of Alan Fowler (Janet) of Buffalo and the late Mervyn Fowler (Ena) of Bristol, England. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Born in Bristol, England, on June 18, 1926, Marjorie, her husband and young daughter immigrated to Canada in 1953. She held a variety of jobs over the years including, McNally's Snack Bar, Niagara Wire Weaving and Dr. Afrukhteh's Office. She will be remembered for her love of travel, cooking and entertaining, her sense of humour and above all, her feistiness. Thank you to Dr. Hill, Dr. Porwal and the compassionate staff of Valley Park Lodge for taking care of mom in her final years.Resting at HETHERINGTON & DEANS FUNERAL CHAPEL, where the family will receive friends on Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. John the Evangelist Church on Monday February 25th, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
