Dean MCCUBBIN

McCubbin, Dean - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, Saturday March 8, 2008, Dean McCubbin, beloved husband of Alma McCubbin (nee Hudson) at the age of 82. Proud father of Margaret Ann O'Hagan (Frank), Carol Owens (John), Sister Nancy McCubbin (Sisters of St. Joseph), Michael McCubbin (Christina Karkanis), Rob McCubbin (Tanya). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Ann Rivet (Scott), Beth, Catherine, and Dean O'Hagan, Meghan and Michael Owens,River, Lily, Malcolm and Hudson McCubbin, and great-grandchildren, Liam O'Hagan, Will and Max Rivet. Dean was predeceased by his parents Cole McCubbin and Frances (Robinson) and siblings, Cole, Frances and Horace McCubbin and Margaret Lucky. Dean was a Companion Member of the Order of Canada, a recipient of the Order of the Red Cross, and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He developed and taught the Recreation Leadership Program at Canadore College and for many years was Canadore's Dean of Student Services. Family receiving friends at the MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Tuesday at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
