DICK, George Jay - It is with deep sorrow the family of George Jay Dick announces his sudden passing 10 days short of his 95th birthday. He leaves behind his beloved wife Norma. (Predeceased by Margaret Dick). Treasured father of Flint (Roberta), Susan Pettipas & Nori Smith-Secord (Jeff). To be remembered by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Doratha Thomas, Phyllis Seal and sister in laws Anna and Thelma. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Alma, his sister Helen Myles, brothers Flint, Ken & James, and son in law Michael. George began his career as a teacher in Pennsylvania where he shared his love of History and Music. When he came to Canada he used his talent as a photographer. Before retirement George was head of security at Massey Ferguson. After retiring they spent many carefree summers at Happy Hills. The family will honour George's life at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road, Brantford on Tuesday March 18, 2008 with visitation from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Interment will take place at a later date in Gettysburg, PA.
