MACDONALD, Donald "Don" Wallace Peacefully at Granite Ridge Specialty Care, on Sunday, March 2, 2008 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Rachel "Ray" (nee Abbey). Loving father of Malcolm (Beverley Smith) of Ottawa and Linda (Thomas Gray) of Seaforth, Ontario. Cherished grandfather of Marie (David Filmer) of Brisbane, Australia, Blaine of Ottawa and the late Krista. Don was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Canadian Army overseas from 1940 to 1945. Following the war, he returned to Montreal to work at the Family Herald and Weekly Star as Associate Editor; before moving to Ottawa in 1969 to join Agriculture Canada. He retired in 1979. A Memorial Service will take place in the spring. A special thank you to the staff at Granite Ridge for their compassionate care over the past 4 years.
