GOOCH, Rev. Canon Francis Nelson Peacefully, with dignity at the Smiths Falls Hospital on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Helen Bernice (nee Baird), Dear father of Kathy, Dave (Cathy) and Peter. Loving Grandpa of Megan and Erin. Fondly remembered by members of the Gooch and Baird families. Francis was a faithful servant of God, having served as a priest in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa for more than sixty years in the parishes of Deep River, Petawawa, Bearbrook, North Gower, St. Paul's Overbrook, Morrisburg, Iroquois and Riverside, Montague and Smiths Falls. Friends may call at the Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. There will be visitation on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church, Carleton Place with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment St. James Cemetery, in the spring.
