Brian Francis MCEACHERN

McEACHERN, Brian Francis - 67, Coldbrook, Kings Co., passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Nearing) McEachern. He was educated at St. Ann's School in Glace Bay and in 1957, joined the Royal Canadian Navy. In 1974, he transferred to HMC Dockyard, retiring as an engineer in 1993. He is survived by daughter, Marlene (Lawrence) Toney, Cambridge; sons, Thomas "Tommy" (Heather) and Robert "Bobby" (Linda), both of Edmonton, Alta.; brother, Paul (Norma MacIsaac), Halifax; nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Gertrude "Trudy" Anderson; sister, Claire Melnyk; infant brother, Thomas. Cremation has taken place under the direction of White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, and there will be no visitation by family request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at a later date in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
