Gertrude Bessie PYKE

PYKE, Gertrude Bessie - Spring Garden Terrace, Halifax. It is with sadness we announce her peaceful passing in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, on March 4, 2008. Born in Halifax, she was the only child of the late Ernest and Annie (Farwell) Pyke. She had been employed as an Insurance Underwriter with Continental Life. She traveled extensively during her younger years and was active in many organizations and groups. She was a member of All Saints Cathedral. She will be dearly missed by her cousins, Ches (Heather) Farwell, Halifax; David (Ann) Farwell, Halifax; Joyce (Bob) Collings, Ontario; Lillian (John) Stewart, British Columbia, and Jim (Shirley) Farwell, Ontario. She enjoyed the company of long-time friends, Phyllis, Muriel, Grace, Agnes, and appreciated her thoughtful and kind neighbour, Donna. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home. There will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. John's Cemetery.
