Lionel GIRARD

Lionel Girard of Val Rita died at Sudbury Memorial Hospital on March 7, 2008. Mr. Girard was born on July 13, 1947 in Brampton. He worked as a stock runner for Spruce Falls. He is survived by his wife, Thérèse; son Stéphane (Andrea) of Timmins; daughter Roseline (Stéphane) Ételain of Timmins; his mother Annette Smith of North Bay; siblings: Denis (Lise) of Virginiatown, Gisèle (Raymond) Barrette of Timmins; Régent (Diane) of Calendar, Michelle Girard of Sault Ste. Marie and Daniel (Mary) of Timmins; step-siblings: Diane (Rick) Hogan, Dave Smith of Kenora, Dorothy Weitzenbauer of Ottawa, and Barbara (Ron) Ingram of Bracebridge; and grandchildren Mathieu, Brayden and Cloée. Mr. Girard was predeceased by his father Joseph and his stepfather Normand Smith. Father Fernand Villeneuve will officiate the funeral service March 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Rita Church. Mr. Girard will be interred at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral director was Guenette Funeral Home.
