DUKE, ARTHUR EDWARD - Arthur Edward Duke, husband of Edith (Hunter) Duke, of Mispec went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1933 in Saint John he was the son of the late William and Minnie (Currie) Duke. Art was a very active member of Fundamental Baptist Church, serving on several committees. In his younger years he was a member of the Reserve Army Signal Corp. Art worked for Irving Paper for 20 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed motorcycles and spending time with his family. Besides his wife Edie of 47 years, he is survived by sons, Steven Duke and Scott Duke (Shelley Belyea) both of Mispec; sisters, Fern Fudge of Saint John, Fay Duke and Naomi Duke both of Kitchener, Ontario; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Bill and Cal; and sisters, Dorothy, Alma and Jessie. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday April 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Mispec Cemetery.
