Alfred Ernest LEA

LEA, Alfred Ernest May 4, 1918 - April 12, 2008 Alfred Ernest Lea, predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy), and father of Bob (Carol), Don (Wendy), grandfather to Joe (Kelly), Aaron and Alison, and great-grandfather to Brooklyn, passed away in North Vancouver, B.C. on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Alf is also predeceased by his second wife Marie, his sister Maida, brother-in-law Bill and sister-in-law Toni, while his brother Spencer still resides in Calgary. A longtime member and past commodore of the Calgary Yacht Club at Chestermere Lake, he had a passion for sailing and boating. After his retirement he took up building and flying radio controlled airplanes and enjoyed countless days and nights working on his new hobby. He moved to Vancouver in 1999 to be closer to his sons and grandchildren. A celebration of Alf's life will take place at the Delta Calgary South Hotel (Kananaskis Room, East Building), 135 Southland Drive, Calgary, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
