Walter ONYSKIW

ONYSKIW, Walter Aged 86 years, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2007. He is survived by his wife Janina Onyskiw of Calgary, two nephews and two nieces. Born in Ternopol, Ukraine, he came to Canada in 1951 to Toronto, Ontario and moved to Calgary in 1952 where he has resided since. He was employed with the C.P.R. Bridge Building Department for seventeen years and with the City of Calgary and the Calgary General Hospital for seventeen years until his retirement. He was an active member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church and proud of his Ukrainian heritage. A Prayer Service will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (704 - 6 Street N.E.) on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be served at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Serhiy Harahuc presiding.
