ARMITAGE, James Irvin - In his 82nd year, of Wilkesport, passed away Thursday May 22 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. Son of the late Evelyn (Grawburg) and Irving Armitage. Beloved husband of Grace (McRae) Armitage of 62 years. Loving father of Allan (Marilou) Armitage, Blaine Armitage, Anne (Patrick) Kehoe and Ward (Sherri) Armitage. Proud Grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. James is survived by his sister Jeanette (Graham) Steeves and brother John (Carole) McKinley, Daughter- in-law Judith and Sister-in-law Anne Armitage, also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Brian (1989) and brother George (2002). James will be missed by many friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place. Services will conducted at the Wilkesport United Church on Mill St, Wilkesport, Ontario, Monday May 26, 2008. Visitation from 1:00 until 2:00pm, Memorial Service at 2:00pm with Rev.Susan Woodhouse officiating. Sympathy donations may be expressed through Wilkesport United Church or Canadian Legion Branch #18.
