Paul Harold TWIGG

TWIGG, Corporal Paul Harold went to be with his Lord on May 11, 2008, in his 69th year. Paul is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marjorie, and his children, Phyllis, (Tom Wilson), David, Stephen (Helen), and Patricia, (Douglas Troutman). He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis, RodneyWebb) and three grandchildren, Thomas, Stephanie and Kelsey. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Harold and his step mom Pearl. During the latter 1950's and early 1960's Paul spent seven years in the Militia with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment, becoming a corporal. From February 1968 to June 1972, he worked at a small mission press in Kenya, East Africa, with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, printing Christian literature for various denominations throughout Africa. He spent many years as a one to one volunteer visitor with the Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre, and the Oakridge facility for the criminally insane, also in Penetanguishene. Later he became an assistant volunteer chaplain with the North Simcoe Hospital Alliance. He also found time to go back to school and earn his high school diploma after retirement from printing. His following years were spent in the security field until July 2007 when he was diagnosed with cancer. Paul was an avid hunter and trapper, and all around outdoor enthusiast. He was a member of the Anglers and Hunters and the Midland Power Squadron among other things. All who knew him loved him. The family will receive friends at the Midland Alliance Church, 829 Yonge Street, Midland on Tuesday May 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral will be Wednesday, May 14 at 3 pm, also at the Alliance under the direction of Pastors Brent Farquhar of the Alliance and Tim Hamel of River of Life. Preparation and care has been undertaken by the Nicholls funeral home. Paul's request, in place of flowers is donation to the Ambrose Bible College in his memory.
