TROTT, Donald George - Peacefully, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby on Monday, May 12, 2008, in his 86th year. Dear husband of Jean of Grimsby for 61 years. Loving father of Greg and his wife Gloria Miskelly of Oakville, Camilla Troup and her husband Michael of Jordan Station, and Jeffrey of Acton. Cherished grandfather to Daniel Troup. Predeceased by siblings Violet Fenn, Daisy Noirot, John, Ernest and Gordon. Don began his working life at General Foods. After 20 years there he moved to Cadbury, Schweppes, Powell in St. Catharines. Don was Chairman of the Board of Shaver Hospital for a number of years and also served as President of the Chamber of Commerce while living in Preston. He was very active in his church for many years and also served volunteering in palliative care, Salvation Army, Cancer Society and Fair Share. Thank you to Dr. Stephen Taylor for his many years of care and to the nursing staff at W.L.M.H. and Albright Manor. The family would like to express gratitude to a very special caregiver Ruth. Visitation at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 156 Main Street West, Grimsby on Thursday, May 15th, 2008 at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Urn burial to follow after service. If desired, expressions of sympathy to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
