KOSTARAS, Ioannis "John" May 12, 1944 - May 19, 2008 Ioannis "John" Kostaras, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and godfather passed away peacefully, at the age of 64 years, with his family by his side on May 19, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. John was born and raised in Nafpaktos, Greece and had since called home Vancouver, Kelowna and Calgary. John led a simple and very hard-working life. His greatest achievements and highest values were found in his love and great talent of cooking, immense devotion to his family, and his deep and unshakable Orthodox faith in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. John will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Labrini, daughters Demetra, Xanthoula and Maria, son-in-law George, and grandchildren Katerina, Amalia, Demetri and Yianni, as well as great multitudes of family and friends. We will miss you deeply and remember you always Dad; now you can finally rest in peace. "Lord Jesus Christ, Have Mercy on Me." Dimitrios Rougas, officiating. Graveside Service to follow immediately at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens Cemetery (17 Avenue and Lower Springbank Road S.W.).
