Alethea WOOD

BARNECUT, Alethea (nee Wood) March 24, 1902 - March 10, 2008 Alethea Barnecut of Calgary passed away at the age of 105 years. Born in Kingston, ON and raised in Hardisty, AB. She attended school in Hardisty and Strathcona High in Edmonton, and graduated from the University of Alberta. Work in the United Church and leading a CGIT group were key activities in her life. Her husband Reginald, in 1988, and children Etta May and William predeceased her. Surviving children, Betty and Norman, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren will miss her very much. A celebration of life will be held at Central United Church (131 - 7 Avenue S.W.) today, March 15, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested may make a donation to the church.
