ROSE, Laurent (Larry) Retired 1991 PWGSC CPF Program and Logistics Support 38 Years Service It is with great sadness that Janet (Mahoney-Rose) announces the passing of Larry , her cherished husband and soul-mate for 35 years. Larry passed away very peacefully with Janet by his side, at Elisabeth Bruyere on July 4, 2008. Larry is the loved father of Monique Rose-Gagnon (Michel) and Gilles Rose (Monique) of Orleans. Proud grandfather of Matthieu and Melisand Gagnon and Francois and Charles Rose. He is also survived by his sister Lea St. Laurent (Henri), Brossard QC and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and cousins. Larry had a long and happy retirement, doing the things he enjoyed and it was said by him "that he was happy he got to do all the things he liked." Larry and Janet travelled to many places in the world after Larry's retirement and each trip was very special, the last being their stay in Tennessee/Arizona/Branson this past February/March. Larry had a catching laugh, and it was said that if we wanted to find Larry in a crowd, just listen for his laugh. Larry wants to thank all his wonderful family, neighbours and friends for their visits, kindness and caring during his illness. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was also a proud member of "The Old Time Fiddlers' Dance Clubs" and the Rideau Trail Hiking Club. At Larry's request there will be no visitation. Friends may pay their respects at 12 p.m. Friday, July 18th, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 44 Rothesay Drive in Kanata. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Larry's happy life will be held at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow immediately in the Parish Hall. Interment of urn, Hope Cemetery Mausoleum. If you choose, Mass cards are welcomed or a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. "Gone from our sight, but always in our hearts. Love never dies." Funeral arrangements with the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 7/12/2008 - 7/13/2008
