Tena BYMA

BYMA, Tena March 29, 1928 - July 9, 2008 On July 9, 2008, Tena Byma was called home by her Lord Jesus after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Tena was born in Wetsinge (Gr), Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1952. On October 12, 1952 she married her dearly loved husband, Bill, and together they raised eight children. Tena leaves to mourn, her loving husband Bill, her beloved children Cathy Friesen (John), George Byma, Clarence Byma (Carol), Stan Byma, Henrietta Kerpel (Ido), Renee Ritskes (Jerry), Marcia Byma and John Byma (Penny). She also leaves to mourn, her much loved grandchildren Lana (Ken), Jeff (Heather), Bill, Daniel (Magda), Michelle, Matthew (Missy), Jenna, Annette, Lianne, Paul, Eric (Nolana), Janis, Ryan and Lori; her step-grandchildren Michelle, Melissa and Michael; and her precious great-grandchildren Ruth, Kaitlyn and Mason. Tena was a devoted wife and mother who lovingly and sacrificially gave of herself throughout all of her years. Her strength, courage and beautiful character will always be remembered. Our comfort is that she is now with the Lord; some of her last words were, "I can't wait to be with Jesus. I want to go home now." Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Tena's Life will be held on July 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Strathmore Alliance Church in Strathmore, Alberta with reception to follow. A special thank you goes to Dr. Maria Muller of Strathmore, Alberta who extended such warmth and care to our dear wife and Mom. The family would also like to sincerely thank Dr. Debru (PLC), Dr. Kerba (Tom Baker), Dr. Emile Muller (Strathmore), Dr. Roode (Rockyview) and all of the wonderful nurses who cared for her during her illness.
