After a brief illness, Laurette Simpson died at the Temiskaming Hospital on April 22, 2008 at the age of 75. She was born in Judge, Ontario on January 20, 1933 to Paul and Yolande St. Onge. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. She will be remembered as a fun loving person who made everyone feel welcome into her home. Mrs. Simpson was predeceased by her brother Jean St. Onge and grandson Peter Fnukal. She is survived by her loving husband Alfred Simpson formerly of North Cobalt; loving children Carol (and Robert) Fnukal of Kemptville, George Simpson of Ottawa, and Lynda (and Wayne) Dale of Orangeville; grandchildren Stephanie and Ivan; her sister Denise (and Roger) Maxwell; sister-in-law Claire St. Onge; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was celebrated at the Holy Cross Parish in Haileybury on April 26. Father Germain Turcotte officiated. Spring interment will take place at the Haileybury Catholic Cemetery.
