DOUMA, Donald Harm - Went to be with our heavenly father on Monday, July 28, 2008, Donald Harm Douma, age 66 of Sarnia. Beloved husband of Jenny Douma for more than 40 years. Loving father of John (Kim) Douma, Renee (Will) Schenk, Jason (Susan) Douma and Sarah (Brad) Boomstra. Cherished Opa of Micah and Leah Douma; Brandon, Billy, Christopher, and Ashley Schenk; Jackson and Noah Douma; and Myah Boomstra. Survived by siblings Jenny (Andy) Berg, Susan Douma, Susan Schouten, George (Hilda) Douma, Martin (Agnes) Douma, Peter Douma and Cindy Douma. Dear brother-in-law to Bill and Nell Barneveld, Henk and Georgina Vandezande, John and Corrie Speelman, Art and Liz Vrolyk, and Joe and Claire Velema. Predeceased by his parents Jan and Renskje Douma, brother Harm Douma and brothers-in-law Case Schouten and Jim Barneveld. Donald was born in the Netherlands in 1942 and emigrated to Canada in 1949. He was active in the C.L.A.C. (Christian Labour Association of Canada) and retired from Dow Chemical Canada in 1995. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 1, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Redeemer Christian Reformed Church, 5834 Blackwell Side Road, Sarnia on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. A private family graveside will be held at Lakeview Cemetery.
