DOWNIE, Pearl (nee Zobolsky) In hospital on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the age of 90 surrounded by family. Loving wife of the late Hugh Downie. Dear mother of Ruth (George Quinn), Robert (Cory) and Michael. Predeceased by parents Michal and Eva Zobolsky and siblings Nicholas, Fred, Anne (Tom Shewchuk) and Mary (Peter Lacosta). Cherished grandmother of Marlene Quinn, Cynthia Graham, Natalie (Rob Howe), Cameron Downie (Krista) and Kelly Downie; also great-grandmother of James, Kate, Samantha, Matthew, Elizabeth, Sophia and loving aunt of William Shewchuk (Ene-Ann), Fred Lacosta (Millie) and Patricia (Jim Huber); and great aunt to several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Visitations from 11 a.m. until noon. A Funeral Service and burial will be held at Pinecrest Chapel and Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 12 p.m. In memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Queensway Carleton Hospital would be appreciated.
