Edward Lewis BURD

BURD, Edward Lewis - After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Edward passed away at The Douglas Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Edward leaves behind his dear companion Grace Peterson, children Ann Marie Martin (Bryan) and Joseph Burd (Ashley); grandchildren Bryanne and Bryce Martin. Siblings Phyllis Kilby, Grace Bath, Ellen Burd (Jack Tripp), Isabelle Bentley, Betty Culp, Fred (Karrie) Burd. Sisters-in-law Judy Burd, Annie Burd and Gloria Burd as well as many nieces and nephews. Edward was a special friend to Wanda (Brad) Burger, Allan (Lisa) Peterson, Suzanne (Todd) Brown and their children Calvin and Sarah Burger, Chad and Hunter Peterson, Gwen and Torie Brown. Predeceased by his parents Charles (1960), Dorothy (2003), siblings Chuck (1942), Bill (1994), Jack (1998), Robert (2002), Dick (2005) and his wife Patricia (1993). At Edwards request cremation has been entrusted to NIAGARA FUNERAL ALTERNATIVE. A celebration to honour Edward's life will be held at the Crystal Ridge Community Church, 241 Elmwood Ave., Crystal Beach on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:00am. Refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's memory would be appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society, Palliative Care at the Douglas Memorial Hospital (Fort Erie) or Heart Niagara. 11177999
