ELLINGHAM, Bertram Frank “Bert“ - Suddenly passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at his favourite place, the cottage, near Parry Sound, at the age of 78 years. Devoted and beloved husband of Janette for 56 years. Loving father of Allan (Juliette), Sandra (Randy) McCullough, Linda (the late Gary) Dion, and April. Dear grandfather of Joshua, Hanna, Jessica, Marsha, Clinton, Keith, Garrett, Julie, Brandon, and Matthew. Great grandfather of Cole. Brother of Ralph and Carl Ellingham. Bert worked as a banker in the financial sector for over 25 years and spent his last years employed with General Motors before retiring in 1988. He was a devoted and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, showing his support in all of his grandchildren's endeavours, whether it be sporting events, music recitals or their education. He would always go out of his way to make sure all his friends and family felt welcomed. Bert was a longtime member of St. George's Anglican Church, an avid curler at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, enjoyed playing Bridge and spending his time outdoors golfing, hunting, and gardening. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346). A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, 83 Church St. Cremation to follow. Interment will take place at a later date at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to either St. George's Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
