MANGER, Alexander - It is with great sadness the family of Alex Manger announces his passing on July 26, 2008 in his 82nd year, peacefully at his home, after a courageous six year battle with cancer. Beloved husband of the late Beverly June (Beck). Survived by his children (and grandchildren) George (Caitlin) Burlington, Alicia (Josie) Hamilton, Alexis and Norman (Jacob/Matthew/ Charlotte) Edmonton, Alta, June (Johnny/Natalie) Kitchener, Pamela (Jonathon/Samantha/Ashley) Hewitt, Texas, Rita (Cory/Joshua/Jesse) North Bay, Bonita (Brian/James/April) Dundas, Toni (Kayla) Callander and Lisa (Nicole/Alexander/Wyatt) Warburg, Alta. as well as 5 great grandchildren Ella, Jaydn, Emily, Michael and Lilyanne. Survived by sister Mary (Ed) Luska and brothers George Manger and Emil Manger. Also survived by sister-in-law Catherine Aldrich of Welland. Predeceased by parents Mikhail and Rose Manger, sisters Lena Pupo, Alice Gaverluk and brothers Steven Manger and John Sunday. Alex was born and raised in Welland, Ontario. In 1958 Alex moved his young family to Callander and worked as a Carpenter and General Contractor. Alex will be fondly remembered for his love of family, humour, great conversations, spirit for life and charming temperament. A special thank you to Phara for their support and generosity of equipment and to Vicki-Red Cross (my dad loved your visits). In keeping with dad's wishes a private family viewing and cremation has taken place with burial at a later date. If desired donations to Phara would be appreciated.
