KOROBIJ, Bertha Mary Evelyn (nee Chesher) - In loving memory of Bertha Mary Evelyn Korobij (nee Chesher), 83 years, who passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the SRH-St. Joseph's Health Center. Mary married Martin Leppanen in 1943. After his death she married Joseph Korobij in 1955. Born in Peterborough, Mary was a long time Sudbury resident recently living at the Walford. She had been a faithful member of the Sudbury Bible Fellowship Church. Beloved wife of Joseph Korobij predeceased 2008 and Martin Leppanen predeceased 1953. Loving mother of Margaret (Ky Munsterhjelm) of Espanola, Marilyn Sauve of North Bay, Linda (Tom Flowers) of Newmarket, Karl Leppanen (Grace) of Thunder Bay, Steven Leppanen predeceased 1961, and Chris Korobij of Skead. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dear sister of Katherine Minaker (Keith) and Philip Chesher (Maryann) both of Peterborough, Audrey Albin (Albert) of Oshawa and Joyce Harmse of Arizona, and the late Ruth Brooks, Wallace and James Chesher all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 at 11 am.
