CHHINA, Harbans Singh October 1, 1924 - August 3, 2008 At the age of 83, Harbans Singh Chhina passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Paminder Kaur. Harbans Singh had many core values, including high moral principles and a deep regard for education. He achieved a double Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Political Science at the University of Punjab. In 1970, Harbans Singh immigrated to Canada to provide his children with better opportunities. He will be missed by his daughter Harbinder (Yadvinder) and sons Rajbir (Sippy) and Harbir (Monica). His grandchildren, Amandeep, Harmeet, Neesha and Nihal will miss their loving, insightful and always encouraging grandfather. The family would like to acknowledge the doctors and nurses in Units 112 and 111 at the Foothills Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Funeral Services to honor his life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery), on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. This will be followed by prayers and langar (meal) at the Guru Nanak Center, 81 Bow Trail S.W.
