FULTON, Charles Gordon James September 10, 1923 - July 31, 2008 Charles Fulton passed away peacefully at the Didsbury Hospital. He believed in living life to the fullest with some of his happiest times being with his wife of fifty-five years and his motor home at their favorite spot out at the lake. Charles was born in Peterhead, Scotland and raised in the Quarrier Orphan home until he was brought to Canada and dropped on the docks of Halifax at the age of fourteen. He was picked up by a pig farmer and taken to Brockville, Ontario, where he worked for various farmers until he went to work for Imperial Oil for a short time before he joined the Canadian Navy at the age of seventeen. Charles had a distinguished career in the navy earning many medals including the distinguished service medal. After being discharged from the navy, Charles again worked for Imperial Oil, and then to Remington Rand. His career later evolved and he worked for Univac and later Unisys. His career was distinguished and spanned forty-five years with a group of longtime friends and colleagues. Charles had many loves and one of which was cooking for friends and family. It was nothing to see Charlie cooking up a storm for several hundred people. Charlie tackled anything with enthusiasm.
