Andy GRAHAM

GRAHAM, Andy 1941 - 2008 Andy passed away peacefully on August 12, 2008 after a heroic battle with cancer. Ever the optimist with his illness, he amazed family, friends, nurses and doctors riding his bike from the top of Dilworth mountain to chemotherapy and medical appointments. He was swimming with his grandchildren at Bear Creek four days before his death. He will be sorely missed by his wife Dianne, his sons Ross Graham (wife Twyla), Art Graham (wife Luisa) and his grandchildren Karina, Amanda, Daniel, Mathew and Konrad. Andy will also be greatly missed by many members of AA in Saskatoon, Calgary and Kelowna, where he was an active member for over thirty-five years. The friends and relatives of Andy will treasure memories of his witty sense of humor, his endearing idiosyncrasies, his determination to live life to the fullest, even in the face of impossible odds and his devotion to those he cared about. The family wishes to offer heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses and staff of Kelowna General Hospital, the BC Cancer Institute, the Palliative Home Care and Douglas Fir Hospice for their great kindness and outstanding medical care. Particular gratitude goes to Dr. Daphne Green, Dr. Gillian Files, Dr. Bill Nelems and Dr. Michael Humer, not only for their medical expertise but especially for their compassion, humanity and friendship. No Service is planned but there will be a celebration of life in September on Andy's favorite beach for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central Okanagan Hospice Assoc.
