George HUGHES

HUGHES, George Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, and surrounded by his family, of George Patrick Hughes of Shamrock, aged 88 years. Born on April 11, 1920, George was a son of the late Aeneas Hughes and the late Elizabeth Ann Murphy. Survived by his loving wife, Rosalie (Quinn) Hughes. Dear father of Georgina (Ivan) Clow, Meadow Bank, P.E.I.; Edwin (Lynn) of Shamrock; Pat (Carolyn) of Miscouche; Cathy (Bim) Larkin of Shamrock; Noreen (Brian) Symbarski of Lethbridge, Alberta; Joan of Fort McMurray, Alberta; Marie (Gerald) Caseley of Summerside; Darlene (Ron) Bailey of Kincardine, Ontario, and Terry (Marissa) of London, Ontario. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. George was predeceased by his infant son, John. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visiting hours Thursday, August 14, 2-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora, on Friday, August 15, 2008, at 2 pm. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Community Connections, Summerside, or a society of your choice.
