KENNEDY, Joseph Arthur "Art" United States Embassy Retired after 34 years, General Services Dept. Knights of Columbus Honorary Life Member of Council 6217 Affiliated Legion Member of Branch 593 Following a long and happy life Art passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2008 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital at the age of 88. Loving husband of Gladys Kennedy (nee King). Son of the late Michael and Teresa Kennedy. Brother of Michael (Margaret) and the late Leo. Brother-in-law of Rose. Half brother of the late Celestine, Irene (Gap), Roy and Father Thomas, O.S.M. Art will be missed by nieces and nephews Lee (Cecile), Michael (Carol), Carol (Charlton), Maureen, Rose Marie (Norman), John (Charlotte), Michael (Deborah) and Margaret Ann and also great nieces and nephews. Art will be fondly remembered for kindness, generosity, loyalty to family and friends and sense of humour which always lifted the spirits of all around him. Art's legendary singing and step dancing performances which highlighted so many family gatherings will be forever treasured and cherished. Friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) Monday, August 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Knights of Columbus of St. Martin de Porres Council 6217 and Our Lady of Fatima Council 9742 will assemble for service Monday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, August 5th to Our Lady of Fatima Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. In Memoriam donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ottawa appreciated.
