Olive ROBERTS

SIMPSON, Olive (nee Roberts) August 1, 2008 Peacefully and with dignity at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Friday, August 1st, 2008 in her 88th year. Dearly beloved wife of the late John Simpson. Loving mother of Heather Simpson (Mark Ashmore), of Lanark, Ontario, Judith Poole (Bill) of Scot's Bay, N.S., Robert Simpson (Dolly) of Virginia, and Jock Simpson (Edith LeBlanc) of New Brunswick. Cherished mother-in-law of Marg Simpson of Metcalfe, Ontario. Grandmother of Alexandra Bruneau (Marc), Michael (Michelle Cribbs) and Peter (Juliette) Klein, Krista Lawson, Luke Simpson, and Christienne Truelove (Mark); great-grandmother to Hannah, Gabby, Maggie, Greer, Arthur, and Laurel. Survived by her brother Keith Roberts of Debert, Nova Scotia. A founding member and past president of the Glebe Centre Auxiliary, and a lifelong supporter of McLeod-Stewarton United Church, Olive was the recipient of many awards, including the Edwin A. Gardner Memorial Award from Glebe Centre in 1999, and the Caring Canadian Award from Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson in 2000. We mourn for our darling Olive, but yet rejoice that all her pain and sorrows are over. Friends are invited to visit the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. on Friday, August 8th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.; a memorial service will follow at McLeod-Stewarton United Church 4:00 p.m. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to McLeod-Stewarton United Church.
