Monica SULLIVAN

McCOOK (Sullivan), Monica - Peacefully, at the Ottawa Civic on Wednesday, June 25 at the age of 69. Monica was predeceased by her husband Buff in 2006. She is survived by her children Douglas, Stuart (Alicia), and Susan (Robert), and her sisters Kathleen (Ray) and Jean, and her brother Jim (Sue). She was proud of her "three and a half grandchildren" - Cameron, Rebecca, Lucia, and another who will be born in September. Monica will also be mourned by her extended family, and by the many friends, co-workers, and neighbours whose lives she touched. She worked for many years in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at the Ottawa Heart Institute. She was also a long-time member of the executive of the family association at the Rideau Regional Centre in Smiths Falls. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Ottawa Hospital for their care and professionalism during her struggle against cancer. They are also grateful to the people who cared for her and to the family and friends who called or visited her at the hospital during her final illness. A service in memory of Monica will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.) on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa-Carleton would be appreciated.
