Lionel KIPPEN

KIPPEN, Lionel - passed away from cancer at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 at the age of 68 with his family by his side after a lengthy and courageous battle to stay with us. He was our Rock. Lionel Kippen, of Orillia was born in Toronto on February 28th 1940 and was the devoted husband and forever soul mate to Marilyn (nee: Farrah). Dedicated and loving father of Kelly (Steve) Childs of Sebright and Richard Kippen presently of Calgary. The best Pops ever to Shannon George and Caitlin and Carly Kippen and to Steve's children Jordan, Lynsey & Keith Childs. He was our Rock. Brother-in-law of Donna (Bob) Jacobs & Uncle Lionel to Lori (Geoff) Hancock and their children Paige & Nathan and to Patti Jacobs and her son Jordan, all of Baden, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Morden & Jean Kippen of Toronto. Lionel recently retired from his last career of 20 years as a long distance truck driver where he travelled Canada and the U.S. extensively, often taking along various family members much to their delight. Will be missed by fellow truckers and other friends all over North America. Following cremation, the family will receive friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Saturday, August 23rd from 12 Noon until time of Memorial Service at 1 o'clock.
