KOZELKO, Mike - In loving memory of Mike Kozelko who passed away Thursday, August 28th, 2008 at the SRH-Laurentian Site. Mike Kozelko, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. In his 91 years, he filled many roles. Throughout his life he was a very modest and private man. Few knew that he was an allied prisoner of war in Germany, or the hardships he endured. His family scattered all over the world, and it was decades before he made contact with them. Many years passed before he was reacquainted with his sister in France, and a cousin in the U.S.A. Michael married Olga Kolody while working in Germany, and son Peter Kozelko was born there. The Kolody family from Saskatchewan sponsored them to come to Canada in 1951. He then worked for INCO until his retirement in 1982. In 1996 Olga passed away and Mike came to live with his family until February 2008. His final few months were spent at Barvinok Retirement Home. He will be missed by son Peter, wife Jean, grandchildren Terry, Katherine, Anastasia (husband Marc Rioux), and great grandson Noah Michael Leon Rioux, he was dido's special little boy. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews in France, Poland, and Ukraine including Julie Popyk in Ukraine. Many thanks to family and friends that have helped us through this trying time. May he rest in Peace. Dear son of William and Maria Kozelko predeceased. Dear brother of Eva, Ivan, Metro, and Zenia all predeceased. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Notre Dame Ave., Sudbury Monday, September 1st, 2008 at 10 am.
