Gerald Earl Morris SANSOM

SANSOM, Gerald Earl Morris August 19, 1928 - June 13, 2008, went to be with his wife Flo, June 13th, 2008. They are together again dancing and playing golf. Gerry is survived by his children Gail Gretsinger, Heather (Ron) Clark, Kenn (Donna), Wayne, Don (Linda), Dennis (Bernadette) all of Saskatoon, and his ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and extended family. He is also survived by his sisters Betty and June; brother Tom and sisters-in-law. Gerry was predeceased by his wife Flora (Flo); parents Thomas and Lillian Sansom, sisters Lil, Mabel, Doris; brothers Chuck, Art and granddaughter Mandy. Gerry started work as a salesman for Canada Packers in 1949 and retired as Maintenance Superintendent in 1991. Gerry became Mr. Fixit at the old and new Canada Packers plants. He always said give me a piece of wire and a cotter pine and I can fix anything temporarily. Gerry and Flo were very active in the square dance community and danced many years after retirement. Gerry was one of the founding members of the Saskatoon Chimo Chordsmen. His baritone voice will be greatly missed. The Memorial Service will be held from Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing) on Monday, June 23rd, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 – 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8) or Saskatoon Convalescent Home (101 – 31st Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7L 0P6).
