Sandy SANDFORD

SANDFORD, Sandy - Passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, September 15, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 74 years. Sandy will be fondly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Margaret; their son Bruce Sandford and his two boys Matthew and Conor and their mother Lorie; their son Michael Sandford and Georgina Salisbury; their son Stephen Sandford and his wife Am and his two daughters Rhandi and Charli; their son David Sandford; their daughter Elisabeth McCallum and her husband James and their daughter Ainsley. Sandy will also be remembered by his brothers Norm and Amy Sandford, Doug and Trix Sandford and numerous nieces and nephews. Sandy was predeceased by his mother Ila Sandford Squire, Bert Squire, and his father John Sandford. Sandy was born in Brantford, Ontario on November 13, 1933. Sandy served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1966 as an air traffic controller. After moving to Alberta he worked until 1990 at Canadian Fertilizers. After retirement Sandy greatly enjoyed his meetings with his masonic buddies his “Y“ gang, and writing his “Sandy Sez“ columns. At Sandy's request a private family service to honour his life will be held.
