Joseph Joe KOTYK

KOTYK, JOSEPH JOE - On Tuesday September 9th, 2008 at the age of 86, Joe died peacefully at his home after returning from his daily bus trip downtown, where he enjoyed hanging out at the mall with his many friends sharing conversation and stories of years past. Joe was a Veteran of W.W. II having served initially with the Merchant Marine Navy and then with the Royal Canadian Navy as an A/B seaman, his last duty being on the Frigate Toronto. He was a retiree of Polysar where he had worked for 38 years. Joe was predeceased by his parents, John (1948) and Mary (1987) Kotyk, his son Carl (Pinky) Kotyk (1993), his younger brother John Kotyk (1998) and his older brother, Alex Kotyk (2006). Joe is survived by his cousins, Ed and Jean Bayduk of Sarnia, John and Mary Bayduk of Calgary, and Judy Pietrykowski of Sarnia and their families. Also survived by and lovingly remembered by Barbara Ducharme, Don Gordon and their families and of course many friends. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Friday September 12, 2008 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday September 12, 2008 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME at 4:00 p.m. A private interment of ashes will follow.
