Ian LECOCQ

LECOCQ, Ian 2008-09-18 Mr. Ian LeCocq, age 83 years, a resident of Amethyst Harbour, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Ian was born in Fort William on July 8, 1925 to Charles and Agnes LeCocq and was a lifetime resident of the district. Ian was a great story teller and took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends with his jokes and tales. He was a caring father and grandfather and a loving and devoted husband of over 60 years to the love of his life Patricia. He enjoyed golfing, yard work, boating on Lake Superior, hunting with Donald and especially spending time with family and friends. Ian’s entire working life was spent with Lecocq the Florist. He was a member of the Kam Lodge AF & AM #58, Scottish Rite, Khartoum Temple of the Shrine, Gyro International, Fort William Rotary, former member of the Board of Directors F.T.D. and he served with the Canadian Armed Forces. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Patricia, son Bill (Lynn), daughter Maureen (Scott), grandchildren Keri (Paulo) and Christopher, great grandson Oliver, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sheila (George) Styan as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Rex and Charlie. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bert Vancook presiding. A private interment will be held at a later date in Mountainview Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay would be appreciated.
